Jim Carden, Logistics Management Specialist, PM-Heavy Tactical Vehicles, US Army:
"Thanks! Received the CDs today and FedExed them to the Senior Automotive Maintenance Manager, CW2 Wargo, at Camp Taji, Iraq. I appreciate you providing these CDs, as they continue to prove very popular with the soldiers on the ground that work on our tactical vehicles. I have sent them to soldiers all over the world, and all seem very appreciative of this tool and the great help it provides as they troubleshoot and repair their vehicles. You are doing a great service for the US Army in providing copies of these interactive schematics. Your help is refreshing and exceeds the norm of service from the many companies that I deal with here on a regular basis."
William Cuneo, Group Leader, Logistics Engineering for PM SBCT/Stryker, US Army TACOM, AMSTA-LC-GLM:
"Training on the STRYKER Digital Schematic Tool (SDST), developed by [TFD Group, Moorpark, California, and] the Log Demo Group at Shelby, provided in April 09, has provided cost savings to the STRYKER Combat and Battle Damaged programs at Anniston Army Depot (ANAD). Mr. Kenneth Duncan, ANAD mechanic, after being trained to utilize this tool, trouble shot a HMS Manifold Assembly. The previous method using just the IETM would require the remove/replacement of the HMS manifold at a cost of approximately 27K each. Use of this tool identified the faulty part, switch-cable assembly, which costs 218 dollars. In the past week, Mr. Duncan has utilized this tool on two HMS Manifold and saved not only the cost of the manifold but also the labor involved to remove/replace/recharge the manifold. Time required using this tool, averaged approximately one man hour."
MG Mitchell Stevenson, Chief of Ordnance, US Army:
"I'd like to pursue a requirement for this technology in the Future Combat Systems (FCS) -- it is in my mind a formidable form of embedded training"
MG Lawrence Lust, Previously Deputy G-4, US Army:
"You can take the schematic problem off the table. I think we have found our solution"
Ms. Cathy Jackson, Manager, TACOM, IETM, and Technical Documentation programs, cites one of the TACOM Logistics Assistant Representatives (LAR) and his real-time experience in using one of our P2P applications:
"... Units were experiencing difficulty shutting off the M-1114 engine when the instrument panel lights were turned on, the engine would continue to run until the light switch (old style) was turned off. With the light switch disconnected and the rotary switch in the run position the instrument panel lights were illuminated. Using the wiring schematic in EM 0030 to troubleshoot the problem, we found wire 29Y and wire 40Z (located near the left side if the transmission) incorrectly connected together. These wires are used for the civilian CTIS system, new replacement harnesses do not have deadhead plugs installed, recommend filling the connectors with silicone material and tying back the wires to prevent accidental connection."
Kerry Kavanaugh, LMCO PM:
"Just a quick note: I have finished reviewing the last of the TFD demos, and I'm glad to say they are great! I feel TFD did a fantastic job, and I would like you to pass along a hearty thank-you for a job well done to all the "team" members ... who worked on this project.... I look forward to giving demos of the finished product to our customers and other Lockheed Martin facilities that have also expressed a good deal of interest in getting more information on this capability for their projects."
Ken Johnson, US Army Logistics Area Representative (LAR):
"I do want to think everybody that assisted me in receiving the P2P program on equipment. Mr. Carden provided me with five of the six P2P programs that I have. And I have these P2P programs, HMMWV, M939, M915, HEMTT, PLS, and HET and I already started sharing these programs with the units that I am supporting and sharing it with other LAR. This has been an excellent tool in giving an informal class to unit's personnel in isolating equipment system problems; it has helped me by giving me a visual aid of what is going on with their equipment systems, such Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic. The cost saving by using this P2P program is unimaginable in unit's personnel making the right call in repairing to their equipment. [Some examples:] 'starter instead of an engine,' 'a valve instead cylinders,' 'a sensor instead of transmission and engine.' I do know that there is other equipment that uses the IETM program, and I would like to see these P2P programs pulled out of these IETM's and handed out to the LAR's too. I also would like to see other equipment use this P2P program. As a TACOM LAR that is supporting many different types of equipment, it is hard to stay on top of all of it, but this P2P program is an excellent tool that works and helps. 'Some Samples ROWPU, LMTV & MTV, M9ACE, ASV, ATEC, STRYER, MHE, HYEX, & DEUCE.' I do believe that there are a lot of other LARs that would agree with this statement.
"Again, I do appreciate the assistance that you all have provided me.... Thanks."
Arturo J. Nino, SSG, US Army:
"The P2P software you send me was a great help while I was in Iraq. We are home now, but I did leave the copies of the P2P with the 82nd airborne division after I taught them how to use it. The surrounding units there really appreciated the software, also. I had to give a few classes to most of the units there on how to use the software, but over all it made all the troubleshooting an easier task for the units in Iraq, and I hope they passed the information down to their replacements. But over all we here in the 626th BSB appreciate all the help you assisted with while we were in Iraq. Thank you."
Eric L. Hoskins, Motor Sergeant, 317 Maintenance Company, US Army:
"I have been using the P2P program that you and your company have produced and first off would like to say thank you for the professional program that you have produced.... I would like to thank you for your companies effort in providing a program to help all mechanics return vehicles to their missions in a more efficient manner."
Reginals Soubry, Senior Analyst, Logistical Support, Montreal Transport Corporation, offers another example regarding the modeling of prototypes with VMetric:
"I have just completed a week of the STM's maintenance environment and performance data analysis, modeling with the VMetric tool ... The work accomplished [will] be invaluable to me in the coming months, as it has given me an even better understanding of how to properly translate my operational support structure and data into the model...."

Jose Morales, MSgt Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor, Texas National Guard (Iraq):
"... that HMMWV P2P CD has really been helpful to our vehicle mechanics. They really like it, 'cause it has made the job easier for them.... We could use P2P on all of our vehicles."
