The 2006 Success Story
MRA4. TFDE achieved contract award for the delivery of the Value For Money Comparator to the Nimrod MRA4 IPT. This involved recruiting a new team to be based at Warton who have been highly successful in responding to IPT needs as the project develops while also fulfilling the designated contract milestones.
MTU SIM: TFDE has secured the contract with MTU to provide NETMA and the 4 engine companies with the modelling software component (SIM) for the ISSS programme for through life support of the EJ200 engine on Typhoon. This contract is the largest yet won by TFDE and is also highly significant because it includes considerable enhancement of TFD’s MAAP® whole-life costing software.
TFDE was particularly pleased to be asked to provide the Whole Life Cost component in Raytheon’s submission to win the role of System Integrator for the MARS programme. The announcement of the winning proposal is expected any day.
TFDE has also developed an excellent partnership with Serco Defence and Aerospace during 2006; this is primarily focussed on the provision of a Whole Life Costing and Optimisation solution for the MoD. It is hoped that a pilot contract for the Lynx IPT will start in early 2007.
